I come from a long line of Tennessee Democrats on my Mother's side. I remember a time when honest debate could take place within the confines of civility and respect for the President of the United States. Today my Mother's party has abandoned any semblance of such and have eerily allowed themselves to sink to an all time low of slanderous attacks on a president in a time of war. I find this appalling. Once people prayed for their leaders. Can we ever find our way back to something so basic and sensible again? I wonder. |

With no clue as to your loss or lack of traction
All you can do is bellyache about the right you’re down to taking
Talking points from the loony left reaction
No ideas of your own don’t stop you from droning on
In a constant stream of hate and accusation
And one thing is crystal clear down deep you don’t really care
The enemy with glee receives your condemnation

I foresee a long and overdue vacation
It’s a shame beyond the pale how you have used the war to sell
A bill of good to denigrate the powers that be
Patriotic friend or foe double Deans or Russ Fiengold
I don’t trust a rusty sword to keep me free

An understanding of a war worth waging
Sufficient sense to know the stakes the will and time freedom takes
From conception to the birth in any nation
Don’t they know their cake is dough even half baked hacks should know
Their “new plan” from the Bush plan has been lifted
